DUO TFA is required for employees and students.

Your users plug in the physical USB device to the device the need to authenticate. Resources may be located within the IST Knowledge Base or on a website outside of this Confluence space. Two-Factor Authenication is also known as Strong Authentication or Multi-Factor Authenticaion (MFA). Both Duo and Authenticator can be used with USB devices, such as YubiKey by Yubico, to verify logins without using a smartphone. #DUO AUTHENTICATION ANDROID#

Token selection criteria is available in the IST Knowledge Base. If you choose to authenticate with the Duo Mobile App on your Apple or Android smartphone, set-up is a self-service process. Students who choose not to use the Duo Mobile App will be required to purchase a token.

There is no cost to enrol your device(s) using the Duo Mobile App.Įmployees who do not have a mobile phone or would prefer not to use the Duo Mobile App may request one free token from IST. #DUO AUTHENTICATION INSTALL#

Follow the instructions to download and install the app.

Launch your app store and search for “Duo Mobile.”.

For a smoother enrollment process, download the free Duo Mobile App from your app store before beginning.

Review the setup process and be prepared to complete the process in its entirety.

Faculty, staff, students, retirees, no-pays, affiliates and other unity account holders are required to enroll in Duo to enhance the security of your account at NC State.

#DUO AUTHENTICATION CODE#

When you activate Duo, you will be required to log in with both your password and an additional security measure, such as a code delivered via text or mobile app security key or a push (or pop-up) notification on your smartphone. Duo Security adds Two-Factor Authentication to services that facilitate login for unity account holders, most notably Google Workspace, MyPack Portal, WolfWare and many others.
